One magnificent route with breathtaking views goes from Les Bruns to Risoul 1850 and back.
First you pass a beautiful gorge with waterfalls and white water rapids, which you cross through charming wooden bridges. Once you get to the highest point of the route, you have a stunning view over the valley of the Durance river and Lac Serre Ponçon on one side and the high, rugged pics of the Queyras on the opposite side. When you continue walking the route you will reach a gorgeous lake with azur crystal clear water. The next stop is Risoul 1850. Now you’re halfway the hike and you can get some well deserved pie and cookies at the bakery. On the other side of the village there is a meandering road through the magical, larch forest of Risoul. This road will take you to ‘l’Eglise’ and from here it’s only a few kilometres back to the cosy town of Les Bruns.
